Living Like Grapevines: Doing Good Deeds without Seeking Recognition

"Some people, when doing good deeds or helping others, always find opportunities to remind others of their good deeds. Some others don't do that, but they still remember it in their minds and consider it a debt that others owe.

But there are those who don't even remember it in their minds. They are like grapevines, producing sweet bunches of fruit every year without caring whether they will be rewarded or not.

Like a horse at the end of the race...

Like a dog after the hunt is over...

Like a bee that has completed storing honey...

And like a person after helping someone else...

They don't boast about it. Instead, they simply continue to live and do other things, like grapevines waiting for the next harvest season.

We should also be like them - doing good deeds almost unconsciously."
